Philanthropy

  The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation's main goal is to support diabetes research. It also provides scholarships and emergency aid to sisters around the world. Every year, chapters across North America raise money for these worthy causes.

  Gamma Upsilon chapter has been recognized by our international organization for its efforts to raise money for the Foundation. We are a Jewel Society chapter which means that every year our goal is to reach and surpass our total amount raised the year before, and we have met that goal year after year.

  Our biggest fundraiser is Lip Jam, a lip synching competition. Organizations around campus participate with elaborate routines. We participate in the JDRF walk for juvenile diabetes in the fall as well. In October we trick or treat for diabetes by going door to door to raise money for the Foundation, and we also hold periodic car washes and bake sales. In the spring our He's a Lady pageant raises money and entertains the entire campus, and the sale of Belk tickets and other car washes and bake sales also raise money.
