Scholarship

Scholarship is especially important to an Alpha Gamma Delta woman. Members are at college to get an education first and foremost, and Alpha Gamma Delta helps inspire members not to simply graduate, but to really EARN their college degree by striving to do their very best academically.

Our international organization has instituted a program called "Strive for Pi" which encourages members to achieve a 3.14 or better GPA. Every year our chapter hands out many of these awards. In Gamma Upsilon, members are there to help each other. Everyone has a subject in which they excel. Everyone also deals with a difficult subject. If one sister is talented at Math, but struggles in her English class, another sister can help proofread her papers and in turn she can help a sister who is struggling in Math class. Our chapter room is a comfortable and quiet place to study, and sisters are happy to help each other. Many sisters are members of honor societies on campus, and Gamma Upsilon is home to at least 25 different majors! By the way, going Greek isn't likely to lower your GPA. The women's Greek GPA on campus is higher than the independent women's GPA.
